Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract optional

For Decorating

  • Sprinkles edible glitter, or other toppings

Instructions
 

  • Cream Butter & Sugar – Using a mixer, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Wet Ingredients – Mix in the egg, vanilla, and almond extracts until combined.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients – Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. While mixing on low, gradually add to the wet mixture.
  • Roll the Dough – Place dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll to ½-inch thickness.
  • Cut and Bake – Cut into shapes and bake on a silicone-lined tray at 180°C (350°F) for 9-11 minutes.
  • Cool & Decorate – Allow cookies to cool completely before icing and decorating.

Notes

  • For no-chill dough, reduce flour slightly for easier rolling.
  • Baked cookies can be kept for up to a week in an airtight container.
